This virus causes an inflammation of the liver. Subsequently, the disease progresses and results in cirrhosis of the liver and death.

Symptoms of Hepatitis B may include loss of appetite, fatigue, nausea and vomiting, skin rashes, pain in the right-hand side of the stomach area, fever, sore joints, jaundice (yellow skin and eyes).
Positive Hep B sAg means that the person has an infection and needs medical attention.
