This test measures Hepatitis B antibodies produced by our body in response to the virus. 

This virus causes an inflammation of the liver. Subsequently, the disease progresses and results in cirrhosis of the liver and death. 

Hepatitis B virus is mainly transmitted via blood and other body fluids. It may be transmitted via a toothbrush or a razor.

Symptoms of Hepatitis B may include loss of appetite, fatigue, nausea and vomiting, skin rashes, pain in the right-hand side of the stomach area, fever, sore joints, jaundice (yellow skin and eyes).

Positive Hep B sAg means that the person has an infection and needs medical attention.
