High sensitivity CRP

CRP or C-reactive protein is a biomarker of inflammation in the body. The high sensitivity test is used to catch even a low level of inflammation because it is important to know if there is one.

Inflammation in the body is not always about having an infection. There are other important conclusions that professionals may draw from the results of this test.

High levels of CRP may indicate an infection; a high risk of heart attack and heart disease due to inflammation of the blood vessels;

Low levels of CRP rarely occur after taking certain antibiotics.

High sensitivity CRP is part of the inflammation test panel.
